Currency
In Italy the currency is Euro from January 1, 2002. In some shops you will still find the price in liras with the change in euro. The coins of euro are 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 cents, 1, 2 euros. The notes are 5, 10, 50, 100, 200, 500 €. Shops accept all notes but we suggest that you avoid to use 200 and 500 € notes. Most of the shops accept all kinds of credit cards.

Language
The native language is Italian but at the hotel our staff speaks fluently English.

Electric supply
In Italy supply is 220 v.

Banks
Usually banks open from 8:20 to 1:15 p.m. and from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. (not every bank, you’d better ask). The dispensers for cash drawing are well visible outside the banks.

Post office
The post offices usually open from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. all-day (not every office, you’d better ask).

Shops opening
From 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., but in many stores there is all-day opening until 8:00 p.m. and sometimes to 10:00 p.m.. Some shops also open on Sundays.

The international area code is +39 then please dial the area code of the location including zero (for Milan +39 02). Please do not dial  zero when calling a handy phone through an international code (+39 348). Even when not dialling the international code  the first zero is not necessary (348).
